Erik Hanley joined Midwest Commercial Real Estate, Inc. as a sales associate in September of 2006. Erik spent two years in the shipping industry in the sales group at Maersk Sealand before entering the real estate field.

Erik specializes in selling and leasing warehouse, manufacturing space and land. He represents both owners and users. Erik focuses on working with trucking, logistics, warehouse/distribution and manufacturing companies. His geographic focus is the I-55 and I-80 markets.

Erik earned his B.A. from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. He is married with one child, and resides in Lombard, IL.

James F. Pater joined Midwest Commercial Real Estate, Inc. in 2009 following service with Paine/Wetzel ONCOR International and Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler. Jim entered the real estate field in 1989 with Grubb & Ellis, coming from the consumer electronics/photographic industry.

Jim specializes in assisting both users and owners with leases/sales, land sales and build-to-suits in the south city, south suburban and southwest suburban areas. Jim works with manufacturers, warehouse/distribution, research/development companies and institutions-both users and owners.

Jim was the highest producer of self-generated exclusive agency assignments and he participated in the largest referral North American deal.

J. Lou Desanto

J. Lou DeSanto joined Midwest Commercial in September, 2010. Previously, Mr. DeSanto was with Paine Wetzel/Oncore International for five years. He was a top producer for Paine Wetzel in 2006 & 2008. Prior to that, Lou was with Colliers, Bennett & Kahnweiler for eighteen years. Lou has consistently been one of the most active and successful brokers in the Chicago area. For 1989, 1996, 2001 and 2004, he was the top producer for Colliers, Bennett & Kahnweiler, generating the largest volume and the largest number of consummated transactions. He has continuously been one of the top producers in the corporate real estate profession. Prior to joining Colliers, Bennett & Kahnweiler Companies, Mr. DeSanto was with the corporate real estate firm of Royal LePage Commercial Real Estate and Harrington, Tideman, O'Leary & Company, where he was repeatedly the top industrial broker. He was their top producer in 1983, 1984 and 1986. Prior to entering corporate real estate, Lou was an account executive with Merrill Lynch and a sales representative for NCR and A. 0.Smith Corporation.

In February 2008. Mr. DeSanto sold the 279.9 acre site located on Route 6 and Houbolt/ Road/Empress Drive, Joliet to First Industrial Real Estate. He represented the Binion Family of Las Vegas, Nevada (Horseshoe & Binion's Casino) on the transaction. Total consideration with improvements is in excess of $25,000,000. DeSanto represented both parties in the transaction.

Mr. DeSanto has over thirty-five years experience in the corporate real estate profession and has represented over 60,000,000 square feet and more than $1 Billion in sales and lease revenues. He has represented such companies as CenterPoint Properties, First Industrial Trust, ProLogis Trust, Vernon Development, TCB Development, McShane Development, The Hadaday Group, Winston Management, Heitman Properties, Ryder Systems, New York Life Insurance Company, Waste Management, Inc., Union Carbide, Diamond Shamrock, Schenley Industries, Inc., PPG, Continental Group, Certified Grocers, Jewel Companies, Borden, Inc., U.S. Post Office, Tyco Laboratories, JMB/Urban Development, The Principal Financial Group, Karstens Realty Advisors, Wachovia Bank, K-Mart, as well as others.
